April Showers Umbrella Shaped Congrats Card

Created this Umbrella shaped Congrats 
card using Paisley Cricut cartridge & 
Gypsy to weld the Umbrella shape. The 
person that the card is for is my talented 
daughter who told me that she is in the 
top choices for a Grant she applied for. 
Grant or no Grant she deserves Congrats
for her awesome college work. Also some
may not know she has a notetaking job for
some handicapped students. The class 
she is notetaking for is a Japanese Art 
History class. She takes notes in class, 
types them up on  her laptop & emails 
them to the students. The college pays her 
for her time. She received a 95% on the first 
2 Japanese Art History exams. Her fav color 
is green.

Used Kraft greens cardstock that I bought 
at Hobby Lobby. Cut the Base out of light 
green Kraft cardstock. Cut the layers out of
Kraft green/white polka dotted cardstock as
well as Kraft light green cardstock.

Used the one piece of the umbrella image 
to act as paper lace underneath. Popped 
up the top layer with foam/dimensionals to 
give the umbrella 3D look. 

Added a metal green/white polka dot brad 
to top of the umbrella. Used acetate/plastic 
recycled from a Tim Holtz Ranger product 
and cut out 2 rain drops. Used white glitter 
on the rain drops as well as the edge of the 
umbrella. Tried rain drops made of vellum 
but they did not hold up well or show the 
glitter as well.

Used Tim Holtz Tiny Tabs & Tags die cut. 
Added calligraphy of Congrats on the tag. 
Tied the tag to the umbrella with a ribbon.

No rain today but it was windy so it took awhile
to get photographs without the wind blowing
card off the stand & swooshing the umbrella
over. Rain is in our forecast for Fri 4/10.
